Course suitability

High level of commitment is necessary in order to achieve this qualification. This will include home study and practice to prepare for practical assignments.

EXERCISE TO MUSIC - Some experience of group exercise to music (aerobics) is highly recommended. The course requires physical exertion and individual participation is essential; therefore, a degree of physical fitness is necessary.  Over 18's only.

Course content

This qualification comprises three mandatory units:

Unit 1 - Exercise and Fitness Knowledge Level 2

Unit 2 - Health, Safety and Professionalism in Exercise and Fitness Instruction

Unit 3 - Instructing Group Exercise to Music 

Additionality

Suitable exercise clothing and footwear should be worn

When will I receive my results?

Results will be forwarded on as soon as they are received at the college.  Please note that certificates, where awarded, can take up to 4 months to be received at the college before forwarding on to learners.

Assessment

Exam, portfolio and external assessment

Progression

Employment in instructing aerobics to the general public. A natural progression could lead to a step and/or pilates qualification.
