Midwives are increasingly required to exercise more confidence in their role as members of the multidisciplinary team making decisions about caring for women facing serious and more complex situations during childbirth. The DH Reports, 'Saving mothers' lives' (2011) and 'Delivering Best Practice' (2003) have recommended that midwives increase their knowledge and skills in critical care in order to contribute to decision making within a multidisciplinary strategic workforce. This module was designed with this in mind.
This module sets out to enable you to reflect and consolidate on experiences of managing key life threatening episodes in order to contribute to multidisciplinary team decision-making.
