Entry requirements

Please note the entry requirements are set by the NHS.

A first or upper second class honours degree or equivalent in a life Sciences based subject e.g. chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacy, pharmaceutical technology, chemical engineering, pharmacology, physiology, physical science subject is required or, when outside the UK, a degree or qualification deemed to be at least of equivalent standing.  

Applicants whose first language is not English will be required to provide evidence of an English language qualification. Find out more about our English language requirements

Course Details

Duration of programme: 3 years part-time 

Start date:

Part-time / Distance learning available: All teaching and learning materials are hosted on Blackboard as this is a blended learning programme.  Students are on campus for 3 weeks in the first term and then attend for one week at the start of each academic year.  They are then at Aston 3 days a term for the remainder of the year. 
Intake: 20

Students enrolling onto certain programmes within the School of Life and Health Sciences at Aston University will be required to undertake an Enhanced Level Disclosure and Barring Service check. Also in line with national requirements for programmes leading to a health professional qualification, a number of degree programmes in the School of Life and Health Science are subject to Fitness to Practise Regulations.
