Deal Camp: Preparing for Private Equity

Each winter, the Columbia Business School Private Equity Program offers an intensive long-weekend during which professionals, students and alumni will be immersed in the world of private equity.


Over the course of four days, Deal Camp participants will partake in inter-active presentations, instruction and case studies from Columbia faculty and a variety of industry professionals in an intimate and high-intensity learning environment away from the distractions of everyday school and work life. Each evening culminates in a sit-down dinner where speakers and attendees have the opportunity to relax, reflect upon and discuss the day’s events.


The program kicks-off with a boutique session for executives on the first day and is followed and continues over the next two days with an intensive, continuous schedule of industry speakers.


The driving force behind the creation of Deal Camp was to equip Columbia Business School MBA and Executive MBA students seeking a career in private equity and related fields with the foundational knowledge that would better prepare them to enter the field.


Based on the popularity and success of the program, it has been redesigned to address the needs of young and established professionals starting their first private equity jobs or considering a career transition into the private equity industry.
