The one week summer immersion in New York City it’s a program from Columbia University open to students who are entering grades 9 through 12 or freshman year of college in the fall.
With this program you may found the perfect course for you stay, been able to choose between a multiple options. The school also recreational and co-curricular activities are offered daily during the break between the morning and afternoon class and after the day’s last class. These include:
College Preparedness Programs
The college offer a number of activities designed to prepare students for college and aid them with the college application and selection process.
- A talk on applying to college presented by Columbia Undergraduate Admissions
- Seminars on how to write college application essays
- Campus tours of Columbia University and Barnard College
- Academic preparedness and study skills seminars
Special Lectures
Program instructors deliver optional midday lectures on topics of interest. Topics from summer 2018 included:
- The Psychology of Studying
- The Possibility of Extraterrestrial Life
- Less is More: Social Media, Materialism, and Psychology
Community Outreach & Awareness
Past projects have included:
- Volunteering in local soup kitchens
- Teaching computer skills to the elderly
- Visits to local sustainability and urban gardening projects
- On-campus food and clothing drives
- Social awareness and community-support programming
Special interest clubs & Discussion groups

- College life skills seminars
- Social topics and ethics discussion groups
- Arts projects
Other midday options
- Studying in the University’s many libraries and computer labs
- Sampling the neighborhood’s cafés and restaurants

How to apply?
Admission to the Programs for High School Students is selective. The admissions committee looks for academically exceptional, highly motivated students who are interested in attending the program because they have a passion for learning and wish to enrich their knowledge of the particular field for which they are applying.
Application Deadline
Courses frequently fill up before the application deadline, so students are encouraged to apply as early as possible. Applications are processed on a rolling basis and will not be reviewed until all application materials have been submitted.
- Early Action Application Deadline for priority course selection is given to students who apply May 15 by 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).
- Final Application Deadline must be submitted until June 5 by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
